I don’t know quite what to say in times like these. Obviously, it is important to fight and speak against racism, that’s not quite what I am getting at (in terms of subject matter). It also feels weird to post something not exactly related to what is happening in our world right now because that’s all everyone is talking about and for good reason. We need to keep talking about racism and police brutality. However, sometimes I feel like I have to say something when I don’t, but I am learning to quiet down. To sit. To listen. To be aware. To join energies with all that is around me. I recently read something by Eckhart Tolle, “Surrender is the simple but profound wisdom of yielding to rather than opposing the flow of life.” Resignation is not surrender. I am learning to approach peace from within and allow that to flow without. Today, however, I feel the need to write while stuck at a loss of words. I decided to do a free-write. What is that you might ask? I am simply going to set a timer for 5 min and write whatever comes to mind — I will not stop typing. So this piece may be grammatically incorrect or make no sense or a combination of the two — but it is what is coming out of me at the moment and I will surrender to that moment. There’s more I want to say here in this paragraph, but I’ll be sharing that as a more personal letter for those on my email list. You can join here if you’d like. Anyways, I hope you enjoy it. (Click page 2)
